Origins (1940s): The land in Puente Alto (Alto Maipo) was originally a polo field owned by Alfonso Chadwick Errázuriz, a prominent businessman and champion polo player. His son, Eduardo Chadwick, current President of Viña Errázuriz, grew up playing polo there.

A Father's Vision (1990s): On his deathbed in 1992, Alfonso Chadwick expressed his dream that this exceptional land, with its alluvial terraces and ideal climate, could produce a great Chilean wine that would honor the family name.

The First Vintage (1999): Eduardo Chadwick, already leading Viña Errázuriz, fulfilled his father's wish. He planted the polo field to Bordeaux varieties, focusing on Cabernet Sauvignon. The first official vintage of Viñedo Chadwick was released in 1999.

The Viñedo Chadwick 2011 (tasted en primeur) placed first, ahead of Château Latour and other First Growths. This landmark event definitively proved Chile's capability to produce world-class wines and catapulted Viñedo Chadwick to iconic status.

Legacy: Today, Viñedo Chadwick is considered one of Chile's "First Growths" and a benchmark for premium Cabernet Sauvignon from the Maipo Valley. It stands as a tribute to a father's vision and a son's dedication to realizing it on the world stage.

Tasting Note
品嚐筆記
The nose shows hints of complexity, with fresh but ripe red fruit, balsamic notes of black pepper, a layer of toasted, smoky oak notes of coffee that needs to be integrated, and a remarkable absence of herbaceous notes, especially for a cold vintage like 2011. The tannins are extremely fine, silky, and velvety, the flavors are pure and defined, with great intensity and balanced acidity. - (Wine Advocate)
