Geoffroy Les Houtrants Complantés Brut Nature 1er Cru NV (Gift Box)

<p>The companion planting of different grape varieties, the oldest form of viticulture, promotes harmony and strengthens the immune defences of the vines. This project, developed by Jean-Baptiste Geoffroy in 2004 after a trip to Alsace, aims to preserve the identity of a family terroir by using practices such as multi-varietal, multi-vintage and zero dosage.</p>

Based on the 2014 vintage, the latest release of Geoffroy's NV Brut Nature Premier Cru Les Houtrants Complantés unwinds in the glass with aromas of green apples, toasted nuts, pastry cream and youthful reduction. Medium to full-bodied, pillowy and precise, this racy, saline wine incorporates magnum-aged reserve wines dating back to 2008. As readers will remember, Les Houtrants is a precocious lieu-dit in Cumières that Geoffroy planted with a field blend of Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, Chardonnay, Arbanne and Petit Meslier in 2004. - (Wine Advocate, Published: Dec 15, 2023)
