Domaine Ramonet Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru 2010

From a bottle tasted in July 2017: As it was when I originally reviewed it (see herein), the nose remains restrained, elegant and ultra-pure with its aromas of honeysuckle, white peach, pear and soft green apple scents. There is a wonderfully refined mouth feel to the equally pure middle weight flavors that display glimpses of a fine minerality on the intense and impeccably well-balanced finish that delivers sneaky good length. If there is a nit, this hasn't developed the overall depth that I originally envisioned and while it is by no means simple, and to be sure this is very much still on the way up, it's not clear after 7 years that it's going to catch the Bâtard (see herein as well) even with extended aging. All of that said, this is still an exceptionally pretty BBM that may very well surprise to the upside if held for another few years first. Score - 94. From another bottle tasted in October 2018: this was like the bottle reviewed above except that the complexity was much better and this example merited a score of 95. In both cases though, it's clear that the '10 BBM is a really lovely effort and very much still developing. - (Burghound)
