Domaine Marcel Deiss Rotenberg Bergheim 2009

Heady scents of orange blossom, heliotrope, and lily-of-the-valley emanate from the Deiss 2009 Rotenberg, reprising as inner-mouth perfume but allied to a dense and relatively firm feel. The bitter side of the vanilla bean along with crushed stone and citrus zest combine for a relatively austere finish whose sense of sweetness remains detached. Impressive though this is in its way, and while it may gain textural allure with a few years in bottle, I don’t believe that its lack of primary juiciness can ever be made up for. I would tentatively plan to drink it over the next 5-7 years. - (Wine Advocate)
