Domaine Marcel Deiss Langenberg Saint-Hippolyte 2011

The Deiss 2011 Langenberg features ripe peach and muskmelon accompanied by piquancy of peach kernel and phenolic bite of citrus rind and chewy fruit skins, as befits a wine dominated by Pinots and Muscat. Here is one of those periodic instances where Deiss maintains (of a wine that has been in bottle for less than a couple of years) that it is going through an inevitable reductive phase indicative of long-term stamina. But there is imposingly juicy persistence as well as sense of structure here, and when the wine is reassessed in another year or two it should reveal itself as even more impressive, as well as worth holding through at least 2020. - (Wine Advocate)
