A very ripe yet still fresh nose combines notes of various red berries, Asian-style tea, lavender, violet and plenty of spice elements that are trimmed in a deft application of wood. The gorgeously textured and admirably refined broad-shouldered flavors possess both excellent volume and solid mid-palate density while offering fine depth and length on the dusty, serious and firm finish. This too is excellent and very much built-to-age yet, like the Clos de Vougeot, it is not particularly austere. - (Burghound)
