This is the first wine where the wood treatment isn't fairly subtle as here there are notes of both toast and menthol that tussle a bit with the otherwise ripe aromas of cassis, spice and warm earth. The lavishly rich, suave and sappy middle weight flavors exude a distinct mocha character on the slightly ponderous finish. This certainly doesn't lack for concentration but I find it borderline heavy. - (Burghound)
