The 2014 Aloxe-Corton 1er Cru Clos du Chapître has a strict and tightly wound bouquet with blackberry and briary fruit, perhaps in need of a little more joie-de-vivre? The palate shows more promise with svelte, supple tannin, and plenty of luscious red cherry fruit mixed with orange peel and a nicely focused finish. I reckon once the aromatics wake after bottling, this is going to be a lovely Aloxe-Corton.
