Here there is a background touch of wood serving as a foil for the pretty liqueur of raspberry and cassis aromas that evidence notes of earth, spice and a hint of the sauvage. The big-bodied flavors possess excellent size, weight and richness before terminating in a powerful, velvety and ever-so-mildly woody finish. This will need a few years to harmonize but should be approachable on the younger side if desired.
