The 1999 Gran Reserve Cuvee 99 delivers the goods.
It appears to be Valduero’s take on a more modern style since in this case the wine was aged in barrique for 30 months with the remaining time in bottle prior to release.
Purple-coloured, it reveals an exceptional aromatic array of pain grille, crushed stone, Asian spices, earth, lavender, blueberry, and blackberry. Opulent, layered, impeccably balanced and complete, it should blossom with another 5-7 years of cellaring.
This very lengthy effort will be at its best from 2015 to 2035.
